RadGuard Lead-Lined Underwear

Prostate cancer patients who have had the brachytherapy radioactive seed implant procedure use this product to protect family and coworkers from radiation. It is especially recommended for brachytherapy patients who are surrounded by children and pregnant women.

Brachytherapy is an operation involving the injection of encapsulated Iodine-125 or Palladium-103 into the cancerous tumor or in close proximity to the tumor. The purpose of the Brachytherapy procedure is to destroy the tumor with concentrated doses of radiation. The radiation seeds implanted during the brachytherapy procedure emit radiation outside of the body. There is concern that this radiation could affect others in close proximity. The Radguard stops more than 99% of the Palladium radiation and 95% of the Iodine radiation. Family and co-workers will now be able to spend less restricted time near the patient while wearing this garment. The Radguard is soft, lightweight,  and comfortable. The garment is HAND washable (not machine washable) and can be worn over existing underwear. There are two sizes: regular waist sizes below 40 inches and extra large for waist sizes 40-45 inches.  Please be aware that because this is underwear, there are NO RETURNS.
