C-THRU Co-57 Flood Sources

The Isotrak C-Thru Co-57 Flood Sources are designed for improved performance, safety, and handling. These Flood Sources are manufactured in the United States. The C-Thru Flood Source is a considerable advance over conventional flood source design. The joined source holder material is made of transparent, durable plastic. The source holder material is transparent and the radioactive area is clearly visible, enabling C-Thru™ sources to be easily be placed on the gamma camera head, assuring full and accurate coverage of the field-of-view, while minimizing radiation exposure to the technicians hand.

Dual head cameras can be checked simultaneously as the radiation field produced by the flood source is the same on both sides. C-Thru™ flood source have 2 handles for safe manipulation allowing hands to be clear of the active area. All C-Thru™ flood sources are supplied in a stable, easy to handle lead-lined roller case for safe transport and storage. The roller case is also a Type A approved shipping container that meets all the requirements of IAEA TS-R-1 and 49CFR.

Co-57 flood sources are used for gamma camera image quality assurance. The objective of using these flood sources for routine quality assurance checks is to ensure that the gamma camera field-of-view image is free from non-uniformities and artifacts. Our uniform Cobalt-57 (Co-57) Flood Sources provide quality control of gamma imaging cameras. Uniformity measurement

The homogeneity of each C-Thru™ flood source is measured with a special dedicated gamma camera measuring system. 100% of the active area is measured with a unit cell size of 1 cm². The results are stated in a certificate supplied with each source.
