ERK-506 KitThe DSM-506 Plus ERK Emergency Kit is simply the DSM-506 ERK with the addition of a digital, alarming dosimeter. The kit includes the new digital DSM-506 Survey/Scaler meter to measure most alpha, beta, and gamma contamination fields from background to 2000 mR/hr. The DSM-506 utilizes an internal energy compensated G-M detector for high range. External probes include the pancake G-M probe (model HP-265) and a high sensitivity tissue equivalent scintillation probe (MRSP-1). The meter measures in dose or cpm, which can be switched from the front panel. The timed count scaler function provides more accuracy in low level contamination measurements. Digital display, auto-ranging and diagnostics are a user-friendly improvement over the older analog systems. Other components of the system include a DoseRae 2 electronic dosimeter and a 1 micro curie cesium check source. All components of the system are contained in a durable Pelican case for easy storage and portability. An RS-232 data output on the survey meter is available upon request.
